Importing Your Readwise Highlights
Importing Your Readwise Highlights
Connect Readwise and bring your highlight library into Avid.
Why connect Readwise?
If you already capture highlights in Readwise, connecting it to Avid is the fastest way to start meaningful conversations with material you have already read.
How to connect
- Open Settings in Avid.
- Go to the Integrations section.
- Select Connect Readwise.
- Paste your Readwise access token (from
readwise.io/access_token). - Choose which books to import.
What Avid imports
When you connect Readwise, Avid imports:
- highlight text,
- highlight notes,
- and book metadata (title/author) used to organize imported cards.
Sync behavior
After connection:
- you can use Sync now at any time,
- background sync runs automatically,
- and updates (including deletions upstream) are reflected on later syncs.
Current schedules and limits can change over time, so use Sync now if you need immediate updates.
Troubleshooting
"Connection failed"
Double-check your token and try reconnecting.
"No books found"
Confirm the source books appear in your Readwise library and try again.
"Missing highlights"
Run Sync now first. If a specific book still does not appear, re-open import and include that book.
Privacy note
